We're Christina and Nicholas, the co-founders of Cards Conquering Cancer!  I’m Christina, a 16-year-old high school student taking AP and honors classes, and I'm a percussionist in the marching band. I'm also involved in my schools' PLTW- engineering program and am a competitive fencer. I'm Nicholas, a 14-year-old in high school, and I excel in honors classes while playing soccer for 3 different teams.

 
A few years ago we were interested in working with the Hartford student council to create cards to cancer patients for Valentine’s Day. We took the cards as well as some treats to the patients at our moms hospital and got such great feedback from the cards. Many of the patients were in tears because they were so grateful for what we brought them. After that day we began to think about how we could continue to create cards on a larger scale for patients undergoing cancer treatments to help put a smile on their faces during a hard time. During the pandemic we came up with Cards Conquering Cancer and as soon as we were able to, we talked to the Harrington Middle School principal and were allowed to start working and getting students involved in the making of these cards.
