Who can get involved?

We encourage anyone to get involved! If needed, we will also provide service hours to your group. This is an easy project to do with scouts, service groups, honors societies, and individuals that may need service hours for school or religious reasons. 

Why should you participate?

We encourage everyone to participate because it is a very easy project that the patients really love and appreciate. It is an easy way to show individuals that they are supported through this tough time. It is also an easy way to receive service hours if needed. 

How do you participate?

Welcome

Step 1: Gather Supplies

  • Blank cards or sheets of paper

  • Colored markers, crayons, or pencils

  • Stickers, washi tape, or other decorations (optional)

Step 2: Create a Welcoming Cover

  • Draw cheerful pictures such as flowers, hearts, stars, or rainbows.

  • Use vibrant colors to make the card visually uplifting.

  • Add a simple, positive title like:

    • "Thinking of You"

    • "You’re Amazing!"

    • "You’ve Got This!"

Step 3: Write a Kind Message Inside

  • Use positive and encouraging words. Avoid phrases like “feel better” or “get well soon.”

  • Examples of encouraging phrases:

    • "You are so strong and brave!"

    • "Keep shining—your strength inspires us all!"

    • "Thinking of you and sending all my best wishes."

    • "Stay strong—you’ve got this!"

    • "You’re in our thoughts and hearts."

    • "Never forget how amazing you are!"

Step 4: Add a Personal Touch

  • Share a small uplifting thought, quote, or saying

  • Feel free to add a fun fact or cheerful tidbit

Step 5: Sign Your Name

  • Let the recipient know the card is from a caring individual.

  • You can sign with your first name only or something like “Your Friend.”

Step 6: Drop off the card to the Drop off Locations

  • Harrington- The library and guidance office

  • Lenape- Give to me

Step 7: Go to our website and fill out the service hour form
